At today’s Nacon Connect 2023 streaming event developer Teyon gave us the first glimpse at some gameplay from its forthcoming RoboCop adaptation, RoboCop: Rogue City, while also confirming that the RoboCop: Rogue City PS5 release date would be sometime in September 2023.
Clearly fans of the movies, RoboCop: Rogue City seems to capture the audiovisual spectacle of the movies well with RoboCop actor Peter Weller returning to provide his not-so dulcet tones for the cyborg copper. This is alongside RoboCop’s trademark foot stomp sound as he moves around the place and his iconic green-hued targeting interface that has him pin-pointing foes before blasting them away with ultra accurate bursts of fire.

Supremely violent to boot with buckets of blood, disfigurements and extra globs of the red stuff ending up on the walls and the surrounding environment, RoboCop: Rogue City also looks like it’ll have some detective elements in there too as the mechanical policeman inspects clues and interrogates suspects to further his investigation.
Coming from the same folks that brought us the underrated, yet super faithful Terminator: Resistance, RoboCop: Rogue City doesn’t look especially ground-breaking, at this stage but it does seem to hew extremely closely to the source material and if fans who enjoyed Terminator: Resistance know anything, it’s that Teyon know how to be authentic to the classic movies that serve as the touchstone for its recent success.
