Stellar Blade is a PS5 console exclusive at will release in 2023 – or so sayeth the new trailer for the game formerly known as Project Eve. A third-person action adventure with style to spare, Stellar Blade casts players as EVE, a hugely capable and augmented fighter that must use her tremendous melee combat skills and powerful enhancements to destroy a foe that threatens all life on Earth.
Developed by Korean developer SHIFT UP Corporation and published under the Sony Interactive Entertainment label, Stellar Blade looks to be a proper throwback to PlatinumGames’ output on PS3 (we don’t talk about the Bayonetta sequels here) and most specifically Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, as Stellar Blade would seem to boast a similar penchant for bombastic and visceral hack and slash gameplay, albeit ably complimented by some absolutely stunning contemporary visuals. To say Stellar Blade is looking impressive even at this early juncture, would be something of an understatement.
