Diablo IV’s Beta Bugs Of Today Will Make For A Better, Smoother Tomorrow At Its Full Launch, Says Blizzard

Diablo IV has been enjoying a successful beta in terms of its immense popularity and mostly positive feedback from players, though it hasn’t been without its bugs and issues.

This beta however isn’t the full launch of the game, and as is usually the case, this is more an opportunity for Blizzard and its team to test its upcoming title and try to resolve problems before release day.

That’s exactly what’s been happening, according to general manager Rob Fergusson, who spoke to NME about how the issues they’ve seen arise now will help make launch a better experience for all involved.

“The word beta nowadays has kind of been misconstrued, where people start calling things beta that’s [actually] a marketing beta, and it’s just another term for a demo.

That’s not our case at all. Our beta is actually us testing our technology – especially on the server side. We had a little bit of a rocky start on Friday. We put out six hotfixes over the weekend, we solved dozens of issues and all of that work is going to pay off next weekend and then pave it for launch.

Sometimes as a player it can be a little frustrating, but they have to recognise that they’re helping us make the actual launch of the game that much better.”

Diablo VI will enter a full open beta on March 24-26, after which point it’ll have its proper launch on June 6, 2023.
