Nightdive Studios Is Being Acquired By Atari

Nightdive Studios, the development team responsible for a number of popular retro remasters, is being acquired by industry giant Atari.

Atari will pay $10 million for the company and the deal is expected to be completed by April, with the company set to pay up to an additional $10 million over the next three years based on the future performance of Nightdive Studios.

Nightdive Studios was formed by Stephen and Alix Kick in 2012, previously artists at Sony Online Entertainment, and specialise in remastering old titles for modern systems. Their work includes remasters of Turok Dinosaur Hunter, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, Forsaken Remstered, Doom 64, Quake, and Shadow Man Remastered.

Earlier this week, the company announced that it was hiring Albert Martin, who previously worked on the Resident Evil 4 HD Project.
