Final Fantasy 7 Remake Owners Who Claimed The Game Via PS Plus Can Upgrade To PS5 Version This Week

Square Enix has announced that those of you who redeemed Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PS Plus earlier in the year will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the RPG from Wednesday.

Previously, the PS Plus version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake would not allow users to claim the free PS5 upgrade. In addition, Square Enix is lopping 25% off the price of the Episode Intermission for a limited time.

Episode Intermission was introduced with the PS5 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and features Yuffie as a playable character as she enters Midgar to hunt down valuable materia.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake was released for the PS4 in April 2020, and is the first part in Square Enix’s efforts to completely overhaul the seminal 1997 RPG. The PS5 version of the game, which adds improved visuals and other bits and bobs, launched in summer 2021 as Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade.
