Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 is unique among the EVO 2023 lineup as it’s the only game at the event that will be playable on a PS5.
The upcoming fighting game sequel will launch in June 2023 so it’s one of the newest games lined up for this year’s EVO championship, with the rest of the MainStage games playable on PS4 only. These include Dragon Ball FighterZ, Guilty Gear Strive, Mortal Kombat 11, Melty Blood: Type Lumina, The King of Fighters 15, Tekken 7 and Ultimate Marvels Vs. Capcom 3.
It’s worth noting that PS5’s long-running supply issues are now more or less over, so presumably this has allowed EVO organisers to secure enough consoles for the event for use on SF6.
Street Fighter 6 is scheduled for release on June 2, 2023 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. We went hands-on with the game in September last year, so be sure to read our impressions to see how the game is shaping up.
