LEGO 2K Drive Images Surface Online Backing Up Previous Reports Of 2K Securing LEGO License

Last February it was reported that 2K had snapped up the LEGO license to develop a new line of sports game based on the contraction toy company, and indeed that looks to be the case as images of something called LEGO 2K Drive have surfaced online.

In case you missed the original report, the partnership is a multi-game deal and is part of LEGO‘s move to strengthen its video game endeavours beyond its exclusivity deal with TT Games. The report claimed that Sumo Digital will be developing the first entry in this sports lineup, which is believed to be a football title.

Meanwhile, WWE 2K23 developer Visual Concepts is supposedly working on an open-world LEGO racing game, which is the same title mentioned in a job listing that describes an “open world driving game with a major license.” Presumably this is LEGO 2K Drive.

Insider-Gaming has expanded on the original VGC report from last year, claiming that LEGO 2K Drive is currently undergoing a Closed Beta Test. It is understood that the game will be released at some point this year.

LEGO and 2K have not made anything official at this point, but with evidence mounting, it’s surely not going to be long until we hear something.
